Forced draft fans (DF) are intended for removal of smoke and other volatile products at boiler fire chamber with participation of inlet air during boiler units operating. Forced draft fan is used both at cold, and hot (more than 200 degrees Celsius) working environment temperature. Pay attention that when using the fan air should not contain fire and explosive hazard substances.

Elements of smoke exhauster

Forced draft unit of radial type consists of:

  • Spiral case ("scroll" type)
  • Driving wheel
  • Electric drive
  • Support metal frame

If the fan is intended for air supply, then it is attached to air duct by means of usual flexible connections. If the equipment serves as the smoke exhauster, then heat-resistant inserts are required. Experts advise to use spring or rubber vibration dampers to reduce noise. They are placed between a frame and a foundation.

There are several types of smoke exhausters. We suggest learning more about some of them.

Smoke exhauster D

It is used together with the boiler unit, where balanced draft is provided. Due to this type of the fan, inlet air passes to boilers' furnace chambers consistently. It can be operated both - inlet air blow-in, and smoke removal if it is installed in oil-gas boiler units. In addition, it is applied in other systems where intensive air moving across the territory is required. As a rule, smoke exhausters D are installed for steam boiler units which capacity is 25 tons of steam and more, and oil-gas coppers produce heat from 0.5 to 16 Gcal. However smoke exhausters D are sensitive to external temperatures — they should be installed in the regions where temperature does not reduce lower than - 30 C and does not exceed +40 C. Temperature of air which is moving through the fan should not exceed 200 C.

Smoke exhauster DN

This type of fans is applied only for unilateral suction — it blows in air via gas flues to boiler fire chambers. It forcibly exhausts smoke and products of burning. Therefore, to increase its operating life it is recommended to use gas purification facilities. DN series smoke exhauster is applied in steam boiler units with balanced draft and in other units, where inlet air supply and smoke refinery from oil-gas heating units with balanced draft is necessary. Temperature conditions for operation of this type of the fan is similar to previous: they should be installed in the regions where temperature does not reduce lower than - 30 C and does not exceed +40 C. Temperature of air, which is moving through the fan, should not exceed 200 C.

Smoke exhauster VDN

VDN series fan is applied only for unilateral suction. It is also applied for compulsory smoke and burning products removal. This type of the exhauster can be executed in any dimensions. It is installed in steam boiler units with balanced draft and in other systems where inlet air is used and smoke is processed. This equipment should be installed in the regions where temperature does not reduce lower than - 30 C and does not exceed +40 C. Temperature of air which is moving through the fan should not exceed +200 C.
